We develop a quantitative model of microbial cells (Cell Flux Model: CFM)
and use it to explain biological, ecological and biogeochemical phenomenon.
What does CFM do?
It quantifies essential metabolic processes within microbial cells based on the mass, electron and energy balances.
How is CFM useful?
1. The model can be used to quantitatively analyze laboratory and observational data. Its simplicity and flexibility allow the model results to be compared with a wide variety of biological data sets.
2. The model is computationally efficient and can be easily incorporated into ecological and biogeochemical models in various scales ― from regional to global scales.
